Meet the Talented Lise Petermann

With Christmas fast approaching, "Petites Séries Workshop" in Forcalquier is about as busy as that of Father Christmas. At its head, the design talent Lise Petermann, who invents jewelry, brooches, mobiles and even Christmas decorations inspired by her day-to-day life.

It’s the second Christmas in a row that Lise Petermann has prepared her "Petites Séries Workshop" inside her boutique in Forcalquier. Brooches, necklaces, hair clips… this creative uses everyday things to make her pieces, like this necklace named “Petit Poucet”, or “Tom Thumb,” made from pebbles collected on a beach in Italy.

Petermann, who is particularly fond of Asia, also makes origami mobiles and garlands, Zen-like decorations made of paper and fabric salvaged here and there, kinds of poems, as she likes to point out.

Born on December 24, Lise Petermann was destined to be a fan of Christmas decorations. And since it’s no fun to have the same Christmas tree as your neighbor, this devotee of originality, creates unique pieces. This year, the decorator has created two “Bonne Maman” nightlights, jelly jars filled with the colors of Christmas and garlands of white fabric and paper stars.

She’s original right down to her choice of Christmas tree. It’s on a cade tree, Provence’s emblematic tree, that Lise Petermann hangs transparent balls that she fills according to her whims: toys borrowed from her children, necklaces, confetti… The result is astounding!
